First session — what you'll find

The character library is huge: thousands of them, almost all created by the community. Quality varies enormously. The most popular ones have a real opening scene, a backstory and a well-crafted personality; others fit in two lines.

To help you find your way, CrushOn asks for your preferences as soon as you arrive, then offers an “Animated” filter, an “Unfiltered” switch and around sixty tags, from fantasy to enemies-to-lovers stories. The “Rankings” page updates the character leaderboard every day, over the last seven days; the creators' leaderboard comes out every Thursday.

Each character has a profile: introduction, tags, creator, popularity. One click, and the scene begins.

Nothing to install: CrushOn runs in your browser. On Android, it offers its own version to download, outside the Play Store; on iPhone, you stick with the browser.

The chat, in practice

The conversation is a roleplay: the character describes what she does, and the scene moves forward with every reply. A note in square brackets lets you steer the story without breaking the flow, and inspiration replies suggest what to say next when you're stuck.

The real standout is the choice of model. Models fall into three families, entry level, Pro and Ultra, and each one offers several styles: immersive, gentle, cinematic, true to the character… You can switch mid-conversation: each model has its own way of writing.

Each model also shows its average response time, from a few seconds to over a minute for the slowest: worth checking as much as the style.

Before you subscribe, the free models stay open without limit, with a small monthly stock of credits to try the Pro models.

Replies can come with a voice message, and the “Stop typing, start talking” banner invites you to answer out loud. Paid plans add more custom voices and open group chat, where several characters share the scene; the top tiers let you adjust reply length.

You have a role too. Profile cards tell the character who you are: a name, a backstory, a place in the scene. You can keep several, to switch roles from one story to the next.

Memory — what it keeps, and for how long

This is where your plan changes the experience the most.

In conversation, short-term memory doubles with a plan and triples on the two top tiers. Beyond that, CrushOn relies on the history: 200 messages per character to start, up to 1,500 on the top plan.

Three tools keep the essentials from slipping away. Pinning: a few thousand characters of text that the character always keeps in mind. The automatic summary, more frequent on the higher plans. And memories, moments of the conversation you save yourself. The world card, for its part, holds the setting.

A good habit: from the start, pin what matters, like your name, your relationship or the setting. That's what stays when the conversation gets long.

What brings you back — and what falls short

Variety first. When one story runs out of steam, another is waiting, and each character can live several scenarios in parallel.

Creation next. You import a photo, write the first message, the personality and the scenario, add a world card so the model remembers the setting, and even a voice. Finally you pick its rating, filtered, unfiltered or 18+, then keep the character private or publish it. After an identity and age check, creators can receive tips and sell content.

Worth knowing if you publish: the character stays yours, but you grant CrushOn a worldwide, perpetual license to use it. Keep private whatever you don't want to see shared.

What falls short: the uneven quality of the characters, and speed. At peak times, replies can slow down noticeably.

Credits, coins, diamonds — what each one is for

CrushOn runs on three currencies, and that's the first thing to understand.

Message credits pay for the Pro and Ultra models. Every plan comes with a monthly allowance, from 2,000 to 125,000; credits bought separately never expire. On Crushon Carina in its Pro version, a message costs a non-subscriber three times as many credits as a subscriber.

Coins are earned: daily login, the day's conversation, your first character created, referrals. Diamonds, on the other hand, are bought to support creators and unlock their paid content: images, GIFs, videos.

Once unlocked, that content stays available as long as your account, the content and the service exist. If it doesn't arrive or doesn't match its listing, CrushOn restores access, refunds or re-credits your diamonds.

If you swear by the Pro models, look at the chat pack: added to a subscription, it opens them without limit, without touching your credits.

Adult content — how far CrushOn goes

Roleplay is uncensored by default, within legal limits and the community rules. It's CrushOn's long-standing strength, and the “Unfiltered” switch opens the adult side of the library.

Creators rate their characters as filtered, unfiltered or 18+, and around forty tags reserved for unfiltered content cover the widest range of tastes. Unfiltered characters can be browsed freely; according to CrushOn's FAQ, full adult access comes with a subscription.

No image generation: the visuals are the ones creators uploaded, and their paid content unlocks with diamonds. CrushOn is above all about writing.

Profiles and avatars, for their part, stay suitable for all audiences: the explicit side plays out in the conversation. Human and automated moderation enforces the rules, and a report is handled within 24 hours.

What it costs — and what to watch

Five plans, monthly or yearly. They differ mainly in the stock of credits, the memory, the history kept per character and the number of custom voices.

An entry plan is enough for most people: its credits open the Pro models whenever you want to step up.

Start monthly, while you find out which models you like. The higher plans make sense mainly for heavy use of the Pro and Ultra models.

A payment or account issue? Write to support or open a ticket on Discord; a complaint gets an acknowledgment within 24 hours and an answer within seven business days.

Privacy — what you should know

CrushOn is run by TECHIEPIE LTD, a company registered in Cyprus, under Hong Kong law. Its privacy rules, updated in March 2025, cite the GDPR, but your data goes to the United States.

They state that your conversations and characters are used to train the models, “in a general way”, without being linked to you. Human moderators and automated systems monitor exchanges, and the models run at third-party providers.

Trust the policy rather than the marketing pages: those announce end-to-end encrypted exchanges and promise not to sell your data, while the policy settles for “reasonable measures” and allows commercial uses. To exercise your rights, CrushOn has a data protection officer, reachable by email.

On the tracking side: Google Analytics and Google remarketing, advertising tools in the downloadable version and the “Do Not Track” signal ignored. No retention period is set.

A good point: the account deletion button in the settings erases your information after thirty days.

The score — 5.5/10

CrushOn AI is first and foremost a library where a new story is always waiting, unfiltered roleplay that lets the scene go wherever you want, the choice of model and real creation tools. The voice adds presence to the scenes.

Worth knowing: memory grows with your plan, the three currencies take some getting used to, the images come from creators rather than a generator, and your exchanges may be used to train the models.
